Overview
Multilingual App Toolkit includes an extension for Visual Studio. This extension enables simpler translations by focusing on the following areas:

These issues can include hardcoded, concatenated, or truncated strings, and visual issues that arise when working with different languages. Integration with the Microsoft Translator service allows for instant visualization and testing across multiple languages without the assistance of a human translator.
Translation file export & import roundtrip functionality allows you to send and receive resources in XLIFF files to individuals or a translator service.
Use the dedicated localization editor to easily edit translated strings. Get translation suggestions quickly by using the integrated Microsoft Translator (requires an active Internet connection and an Azure account with an validate Cognitive Services subscription). The editor also allows you to quickly edit data stored in XLIFF files by adjusting pseudo and actual translations.

You can use Multilingual App Toolkit with Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit editions.

Required Software: Visual Studio Professional 2015, Visual Studio Community 2015*
Optional software: Xamarin for Windows (see: http://www.xamarin.com)

*Visual Studio is required only for add-in functionality. The Multilingual App Editor does not require Visual Studio.

Important: Make sure you have the latest service pack and critical updates for the versions of Windows and Visual Studio that you are running. To find recent security updates, use Windows Update.
Click the Download link on this page to start the download of the self-installable package. Then do one of the following:
- To start the installation immediately, click Run.
- To save the download to your computer for installation at a later time, click Save.
Additional information
To use the Microsoft Translator functionality available in the standalone editor, you must have an active Internet connection.

NOTE: Version 4.0 of Multilingual App Toolkit was redesigned to support a greater set of projects, including Xamarin support within Visual Studio's IDE. As such v4.0 is not backwards compatible with prior releases of the toolkit. Projects that currently use a previous version will require a manual upgrade. Some of the most common formats that are supported are: .docx, .doc, .epub, .odt, .xls, .xlsx, .log, .rtf, .epub, .xml, .jpg, .png, .gif, .psd, .java, .exe, .css and .ocx. Of course, these are just some of the over sixty different formats that can be opened from the Free Editor interface.
Depending on the type of file that you open, the program will offer one series of benefits or another. With images, you can apply small edits like cropping or resizing; with spreadsheets, you can edit the cells; with text docs, you can rewrite the text parts, etc.
One important detail is that, despite the large number of formats and file types supported, Editor Free is not compatible with any video or audio files. It is possibly the only thing needed to make it the ultimate all terrain tool.
Free Editor, in any case, is one of the most comprehensive editing programs that can be found today, and can handle virtually any document, whether it be a text or image. And what's more, this is a lightweight application with a simple interface, and is easy to install and uninstall.
